Hi,

Looking for a Mrs Dempsey and Elizabeth Dempsey (Daughter) who were living at:
Empress Buildings, Ravenhill Road and 24 Ravenhill Road  in the early 1900s
(Have postcards to that address from about 1904 onwards).  Would be grateful for a lookup if anyone has street directories for this time.

Not sure if if there is a Mr Dempsey (William?) or if he had died.  Think Mrs Dempsey might be Maria (previously ADAMS).   Emma Bartlett Adams (my great grandmother) was residing at this address with her aunt and cousin (the Dempsey's).

Also, would be grateful for lookup for McBeath on Ravenhill Road from 1910-1920. (Emma Bartlett Adams married a Hugh McBeath c1912).

Would be grateful for any assistance.

Kind regards,

Longtails
(Switzerland)

Going through older posts and came across this one. By now you might have been able to find more information but if you haven't done so the following might be of interest.

The 1901 and 1911 census are now both online. Here's Mrs. Maria Dempsey, a widow, living at 16 Ravenhill Rd. with daughter Elizabeth, son ALexander and niece Emma Adams (she had 2 other children who died before 1911).

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hi Longtails, I have just came across ur post today, May 1st.
I have been tracing my Dempsey tree and have collected as many Dempsey names as I could just in case I made a connection.
I have quite a bit of info on the Dempseys u have mentioned and some on Maria Adams - births, marriages, burials & family death notices.
Its almost 5 in the morning & I'm heading to bed but I will get my info together and send u as soon as I can it so u can compare.

Hope we can help each other out,

Loneygrandchild

Hi,

Emma Bartlett Adams is my Grandmother and did live with her Aunt  Dempsey ( not sure if it was Maria I have it somewhere but would need to look it out) when she came back from Argentina. She was married to Hugh McBeath who was originally from Callender in Perthshire Scotland.

Hi Walter, I would be really interested in learning more about Emma & her family.
I could add it to my records.
