Hi Jackeroo,

No just where marriage took place. No Edward Arthur Henderson was born here. There is this...the only peculiar 1908 birth (or anywhere about that time) for an Ernest Albert anything.

GATLEY Ernest Albert 5 May 1908 Father [unrecorded] Mother Ethel Maud Louisa GATLEY Croydon Dist Hin 810 258 Symbol: S

I thought he may have died as his mother married and two years later had another son Ernest Albert but there is no death record for him. The marriage lists her as Ethel Maud Louisa GATLEY 34 Widow daughter of William Henry Gatley  ??? All seems a bit peculiar....with your family maybe more suspect business  :-X ...........Kris  :)

PS I have double checked - there is no GF

LOL. I just saw Sashar's post on the marriage ....she used GF to signify grooms father. (We all have our own way of transcribing an entry).....Kris  ;)

Actually Ernest Gatley is probably not him after all Jackeroo. I should have studied it further before I opened my mouth. I now see the son of her marriage lists 5 Oct 1910 to Stephen Murch. It also has a symbol S. On examining this I suspect his birth may have been legitimised. If this was the case he would not have married under Henderson. Sorry for the confusion. Could your Ernest have been born interstate? ...........Kris  :)
