Hi All,

Robert McLuckie married Margaret McKerracher.  Children Elizabeth chr. 1797 Kippen married John McFarlane in 1822 in Kippen, Robert chr. 1802 and Margaret chr. 1806 Kippen married John Cassels in 1828 in Dunbarton.

Any connections?

Hello Ros,
I have four children for this couple not including Elizabeth.
Robert, 1793.
Robert, 1803.
Margaret, 1806.
Ann, abt 1807.
Robert and Ann appear in the 1871 census for Buchlyvie.

I also have a 4xggrandmother Christian McLUCKIE, b. abt 1771. She married Alexander CASSELLS. I have more on their family, but nothing further for Christian. Could there be a connection with your Robert?

Have a number of McKERRACHERS in my tree from a RISK family connection, but have not been able to place this Margaret.
 Any ideas?

This is great.  I would really like to work together and see what we can find out.  Stirlingshire is a new line of research for me.

I would think our McLuckies are related.

I'm new this site and have just found your reply.
Great, thanks for the contact.
Buchlyvie is a small village between Drymen and Stirling on the A817. In early times it seems to have been divided between Kippen and Drymen Parishes. In 1853 a Secession Church was formed at Buchlyvie and there are records for these in the Stirling Archives, however they have not been filmed by the LDS. I transcribed these books last September when I was there and was then able to solve several puzzles. Unfortunately the records between 1785-1875 are missing!! Of course this is the period we are mainly looking at with these McLuckies.

Hi hope you are still on line i have the same Robert mcluckie and his daughter married john mcfarlane, there daughter elisabeth married peter mccallum, and jessie mccallum is my great grand mother.

Robert McLuckie/Margaret McKerracher are my 5th great grandparents. I do have a copy of Robert McLuckie's (b.1802) will. It mentions Margaret Risk as the daughter of Ann McLuckie (who is Robert's sister). I would enjoy discussing this line with you. (My line continues with Elizabeth marrying John Macfarlane).
