My last offering of the day.

There are only three Branscombe marriages on the Sussex Marriage Index, George's in 1808, Georgina's in 1835 and this one, also in 1835;

Hastings All Saints
12 Jan 1835
Hanna Stace Branscombe
John Smith
(no other details)

Food for thought.  ;D

Sussex: Satcher (Hamsey) and Gatton (East Grinstead)
Leicestershire: Pratt
South Wales: Evans (Neath)
Poland: Gonet, Deren

I couldn't resist another look at A2A, this time for Samuel Stace at the ESRO

Parish of Hastings St Clements
Bastardy Order, 22 Jun 1820
PAR 367/34/5/36

I assume this one refers to Hannah.

Looks like it was a busy day for Samuel and Mary.
I also think that George was still alive, just moved on, or at sea, as Mary is never referred to as a widow.

Hi Phil good to hear from you again yesterday I spent a bit of time on A2A and found Samuel Stace bastardy orders and Marys removal orders as it says she had the child in her own apartments 1815 so my guess is it is Hannah as she would fit the time frame.Still need to do a lot of checking on others not sure how many she did have.Yes I see it never says widow apparently on her death cert it states widow but that wasnt till1864.So many thanks to you you steered me in the right direction  ;D ;D ;D

Cheers KateNZ

Hello Kate,
I also am in NZ and have a Mary Branscom (no 'be' ending) who married my Thomas Morfee in Hastings when first Elizabeth Morfee died.  ie She was married so that she could look after the children when Thomas was doing his 'mariner' thing.
He married her in the 4th qtr 1847.
Residence at time of marriage St Mary Magdalene. Father George Branscom mariner.
Don't know if this is one of yours.
