William Henry Pollard (b 30/6/1859 in Wheal Ellen, District of Mt.B, South Australia) married Mary Ann Carmichael (b 21/5/1857 in North Kapunda, South Australia) about 1877.
Does anyone have information on the ancestors of this family or the best place to look for information

State wide cemetery search shows
Mrs Mary Ann Pollard buried at Bute
aged 75 at death in 1932

There are a few Pollards buried  in more recent times at Mt Barker including a 'Bill' who may be related.

I can see 4 other girls born to this couple in SA but alas no William Henry and no marriage of William and Caroline in SA so looks like he probably arrived with them

I saw the request re the Pollard and Carmichael families.

I was in the South Australian State Library yesterday, where I do all my reearch, and I did some looking up for information re the Pollard and carmichael families.  The following is what I did manage to find.

ARRIVAL FORM OVERSEAS.

William Pollard, wife Caroline nee George, and infatn son, William Henry arrived in South Autralia 24th September 1847 aboard the "RAJAH" which sailed from London via Plymouth

MARRIAGE.

William Henry Pollard, aged 30 years, son of William Pollard married Mary Ann aged 20 years, single, daughtr of William Richard Carmichael 7th February 1877 at Lutheran Parsonage, Rosenthal, District Barossa reference book 110 page 451.

CHILDREN BORN TO WILLIAM HENRY POLLARD 7 MARY ANN CARMICHAEL.

1. Nelson Hugh born 17th February 1877 in Kersbrook, District Talunga.

Mary Ann Howard Holland born 1836 in Co. Cork, Ieland, and died 16th January 1903, place of death not recorded.



WILLIAM RICHARD CARMICHAEL.

William Richard Carmichael born 1819 in Dublin, Ireland, and died 18th November 1873 in Freeling, South Australia.

William Richard was the son of Andrew Blair Carmichael and Jane Caldbeck.

Andrew Blair Carmichael Snr. born 1782 in Dublin Ireland and died 1822 place of death not recorded.

Andrew Blair Carmichael, Clerk of the Crown, who married Jane Moore.

Andrew Blair Carmichael Junior married Jane Caldbeck in Lisburn, North Ireland.

The above is all I had time to look up further information, so hope the above is of some interest.
