Sorry I replied to carols thread lol, I'm emma I am researching the same person as carol.

I'm subscribed to ancestry but I just get stuck on where to find information going back to 1800s as it's mostly parish records and it baffles me 😩😩😩

What a kind offer.  I would be so pleased if you could look up a Joseph Creswell/Cresswell in Horsley Woodhouse please?   I know that he married Mary Horsley there ion 15 April 1771.  Mary was from Nottinghamshire and I have some records for her.   Joseph however, is a mystery.

I have looked up Philimore's parish registers for Horsley and cannot find a marriage of a Creswell before the 1771 date for Joseph and Mary so finding his birth there may be a bit of a dead end.

I presume that if Joseph married in 1771 his birthdate must range from about 1740 to 1751.

It has got to the stage where I am speculating without evidence so it would be fantastic if at least I could either rule his birth in Horsley either in or out.

Thanks, marp

Hi Moira, I'm looking for a Coroner's record from 1838. George Bates (the younger) died at Swarkestone on the 11th of September that year and the death was registered on the 14th of September. The cause of death was Apoplexy and the Coroner was Josh Sale. I'm trying to find out if this George Bates was my ancestor and so I need any family information that may be in the Coroner's report. My ancestor's wife's name was Rebecca Cross. If this can be confirmed or otherwise I would be most grateful.
Kind regards,
Colin

Hello, if you are still nice enough to do this, my first definite ancestral record is of Thomas Fouke of Codnor marrying Dorothy Cham at the Church of St. Lawrence in Heanor on October 30, 1616. Would there be other records of him or Dorothy in Codnor? Thank you if you want to look for me.

I am seeking information on my g-g-g-grandmother Ann PYM born @20 March 1803, Belper, Derbyshire died @20 November 1885 in Belper. She married Mathew TURTON 22 Jan 1822 in Denby, Derbyshire. I am seeking clues as to her parents, grandparents et cetera.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
