Thank you Valda,  we always thought that son John - not on this entry may not have been as old as claimed.  Had older sisters thou.   Beats me why so many changed their occupation after migrating.    It really does.   Another question if I may, planning the big visit in Sept, what is the address of the genealogical society in Bedfordshire or Leighton-buzzard?   Is there a central webpage that may list them country wide as I have a few places I want to go?

Until only a few days ago we never knew anything of this side of the family so i am really interested in hearing anything.

Hello fire,
Firstly, welcome to the family.  I'd be quiet happy to share what I have on our common ancestors, I will send you a PM with my personnel email address so we can communicate directly.
I wish I had heaps of photos to share but unfortunately what I have starts with John Webb's daughter, Esther, who was my great grandmother.  as far as wish lists go I would love photos of all ancestors but I'm not that lucky.

Hello Abygail

I think there is info re WEBB in Leighton Buzzard - particular Josiah's ''indenture'' ["indenture"? Isn't that an ''apprentiship''?]
in local Archives?

You can access the records by searching for "blars adlib" - that should turn-up Beds Archives and then have a good look

cathy
Bedfordshire: Worker [Flitton]; Ames [Kempston]; Manton [Kempston]; Morris [?]; Valentine [Kempston]; Two & Osborn [Cranfield]

Herfordshire and West London: Brown [Kent in early 19th C]; Blackwell.
McCarthy [Clonakilty, County Cork - searching for needles in the haystack!] and LOSTY [Dublin]

Hello Abygail
You sent me (michcann) a message back in 2009 in regards to Josiah Webb.  I note you're other posts re- the Firth's/Kellys.  Basically I am a descendant of William Kelly/Firth on my mother's maternal line.  William Firth (Kelly) - Esther Firth & George Scopie - Elma Scopie & Geoffrey Dowling (my maternal GP's).
I had difficulty replying to your original message hence reply to this one.  May be easier contacting (if you get this) (*) as I haven't used or at least been on Rootschat for several years.
Regards Mick
