Underwood, Yardley Hastings
« on: Tuesday 27 February 07 20:27 GMT (UK) »
Ahoy hoy,

Right, some of my lovely family chaps (the Leesons and Rainbows) came from Yardley Hastings. On EVERY (and I do not exaggerate!) census for either of these two clans that I have come across, there has been an Underwood family somewhere nearby! And there was even a place called Underwood's Yard. And one of my Rainbows eventually married into the Underwood family! WHO WERE THEY???
Were they like a really important family in the area or something? Or anyone related to them? etc.

X
Byrne (Wexford), Hogan (Wexford), Hunt (London & Sussex) and Leeson (Northampton)

Hi Katie

Do you know of Norman Tew's who mentions alot of the Underwood's.

It can be found here.

http://www.tech2u.com.au/~normtew/yh/index2.htm

Also quite a few people seem to be looking at the same lineage.

I have some Underwood's connected to my Minney line. I would definitely recommend the website by Norman Tew.

I have an Underwood related to a Minney who killed a John Dunkly, and then was transported to Tasmania.
HECTOR - Brigstock, Stanion, Higham Ferrers
RIDYARD - Middlesex, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire
FLETTON - Benefield, Higham Ferrers

Hi Sandy,

I've just located a message posted by you in Feb 2007 about the Underwoods. at the bottom you have a list of names and location of other people.

One of the name caught my interest. Hall, Shoreditch. I have a Hall who moved to shoreditch in London about the mid/late 1800s. Married a lady Maria Noble late in life and had at least two kids.

Do you have any infomation on this couple???

Irene

Hi Irene

I am afraid I do not.

My husbands family were John Hall who married in St. Leonards Shoreditch in
1840 to Mary Ann Yelverton who came from Cornwall.

I do know from the marriage certificate that his father was James but which
one is a mystery as there are too many possibilities.

Sorry can not help more.

Sandy

Hello there. I am researching my partners family line. He is an underwood and decended from George (1841) and Ann Minney (1840). Is this the family you are referring too. Im just curious to know if they are related to the James Underwood of the Murder.

Ive only been looking at the tree for 3 weeks so its really new to me
