Can anyone fill in the details of the murder of William Edward Grimbol,
a Butcher in Cheshunt 1969

Any info greatly appreciated.

"Hell's Angel Murder"

"A 'Hell's Angel', aged 18, who was said to have clubbed his shop manager, aged 61, to death, was ordered at Hertfordshire Assizes at Hertford yesterday, to be detained during her Majesty's pleasure. Dermot Jeremiah Ames, butcher's assistant, was also said to have robbed the shop safe because he wanted money to buy a motor cycle.

"Mr.Justice Milmo ordered Mr.Ames, who was 17 at the time, to be detained for what he called a "callous and brutal murder". He passed a concurrent indeterminate sentence of detention for life on a charge of stealing £42 9s 5d from the shop safe and using force on the manager.

"Mr.Ames, of Bounces Road, Edmonton, N., pleased Guilty to murdering Mr.William Edward Grimbol, manager of Dewhurst's shop at High Street, Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. He also admitted the robbery."

Dermot Jeremiah Ames died about this time last year of lung cancer. He was 62 which I believe was the age your relation was when he was brutally murdered by mr Ames.
