Hi Listers
Can anyone help with knowledge of schools in Swinford in the late 1820's-1830's?
I have an ancestor who was a schoolmaster in Swinford then...I am hoping to find some more information on him that might lead me further.
I can see that he and his wife had three children born in Swinford but there is no other record of them in the area. They don't appear on the 1841 census.
Any clues as to how I might find some more about who worked in local schools?

The schoolmaster I am after is James Hunter, his wife was Hannah (nee Cartwright). Their son Job was born in Swinford in 1832.

THERE IS ALSO A SWINFORD IN IRELAND AS WELL AS LEICESTERSHIRE
