Sorry fellow rootchat members my eyes are fading tonight on re reading the death certificate it may state Stanley Terrace, Kirk White Street. The certificate is very faint and the writing is compact.

I will have to buy a magnifying glass to ensure that I do not make any errors.

Thanks Cal 241 for the reply sorry for the mistake.

regards Teresa

Hi Teresa,
Ive had a look for your address I can't find it,(perhaps someone else can Google it up),but in the mean time, there is a Kirkby Woodhouse, could that be your address, you did say it was faint and the writing compact...

Looking at Nottingham  and googling there was a poet who wrote about Lord Byron his name was Henry  Kirke White therefore I think this must be the correct spelling of the address. Hope this helps.

Hi

Could it possibly be

Stanley Terrace
Newark on Trent
Notts

Such an address still exists on http://www.streetmap.co.uk/

There is no Kirk White Street shown on there.

Death certficate definately states Nottingham. I have just looked on the Meadows Website and there is a commnet that Kirke White Street was near Mayfield Grove which would be correct as in later years the family did live on Mayfield Grove and some family members are known to have married at the chapel on Mayfield Grove.

Thanks for all your help in getting to the bottom of this problem.

Any information about the area would be welcomed.

Best wishes Teresa

Its a lovely reminder to see kids in the street and look at the widths of the road. You dont get that on the modern developments for housing.

enjoy looking
