My father's uncle was also called Langron and was killed at Gallipoli in 1915.  He was born in Dublin and had three sisters - Christina, Annie and I'm not sure of the name of the third sister.  Unusual name - but the connection doesn't make sense.

Hi Mary Christina

Its good to find someone else researching Langron from Dublin.

I have reason to believe surname might be French?

Lilian Christina was my Grandmother

I have recently found i have a 2nd cousin still living in Dublin and he was able to give me lots of information. His mother is still alive and she gave me all the names she could remember. Hence my mention of John Langron.

Have you any information you could share with me and i can give you some, maybe we can find a connection or see if John is not one of mine.

Hi Christine,

I suspect there must be a different branch of this family.  John's sister Christina was my grandmother.  I know her brother was killed in the Dardanelles (but wasn't sure of his Christian name) and John appears to be the only Langron killed at that time.  He had two brothers - William and Joseph, a sister called Annie and another sister whose name I don't know.

I have just emailed my cousin in Dublin to see if he has any evidence that John was in our family. Will let you know what he says.

My grandmother Lilian had nine sisters and one brother that she can remember.

I have found some on the 1911 census and am waiting for my cousin to send me a copy of the 1901 census. (only 12 in total on 1911 census)

Lilian's parents were James Langron and Emma Doyle.

Her Grandfather was Edward Langron.

They lived 26 Bath Avenue, Sandymount. (House \ Pub)
