Federated Database Search - just found this and downloaded two death certificates - free!  Many more details on the certs than GRO certs. :)

This link is mentioned in Janice's first post but thought I would bring it to the top again.  I think some of these are available on Ancestry.com but for those of us without the worldwide subscription, this is most useful.
