St Alphonsus Catholic School Glasgow.

Can anyone tell me how far back and if they perhaps keep schooling records at St Alphonsus??

I emailed, I think, was the church, with no reply!

My McQuades attended St Alphonus, some from 1880 up and my Granddad from about 1917 onwards.

Would like to know what they keep on records, I presume my Granddad was funded to recieve education as his parents both died early. Family prior attended on poor relief.

Even old photos?!

Thanks Ele...

According to http://www.peelcom.com/partickchurches/marist/ The Marist brothers founded St Mungos first and other schools including St Alphonus came later so you may be talking mid 1860's onward

It's also interesting to note that it was the same order who founded Celtic Football club in the 19th C with the aim of providing charitable relief for the poor of the area
