Help with William Morton Davey
« on: Monday 12 March 07 23:03 GMT (UK) »
Hi,  I'm a bit stuck at the moment and need a bit of guidance with William Morton Davey. Details I have so far he is marriage to Charlotte Faulkner in 29 Mar 1847, residence at time of marriage is Waterloo Retreat which I am told is in Wandsworth. Just wondering if any children were born to this couple or if they can be found on any census. If I have the right William he came to Australia were he remarried in 1862 to Catherine Dwyer. Any help would be appreciated.   :)Donna

Here's one...

Charlotte Elizabeth DAVEY
chr 23 June 1850 at St Clement Danes, Westminster
Father: William Morton Davey
Mother: Charlotte

And another:

Sarah DAVEY
chr 22 June 1853 at St Mary's, Lambeth
Father: William Morton Davey
Mother: Charlotte

Not sure about the 1851 Census. There's a William and Charlotte Davy living in Bloomsbury (which is near to St Clement Danes) but they have an 8-yr son.
Census information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

Hi Dave & Hilary, thank you both. I been sent a copy of the marriage certificate. They were married at the parish of St Mary's Newington. Age states of full age for both, Profession: Picture Dealer. Received other papers today with him being a mounted trooper 29 Jun 1855 in Aus age on that 27(29) and states as married and his calling as a carpenter.  Donna
