Rimmer Family-Liverpool/Birkenhead and Eccles

I am struggling to find the marriage of Robert Henry Rimmer b1817 Liverpool to Sarah Darbin(or similar) B1820 chilvers Coton Warwickshire.
Their first child was born in 1846 in Liscard, cheshire But the children seem to be born in Seacombe, Liscard and Liverpool.
On the different census he is a mariner and in the merchant service. Sarah is a dressmaker. For the life of me I cannot find their marriage, ive tried the cheshire and Lancashire BMDS Ancestrys complete bmd, NOTHING. Without the marriage certificate I cannot go further. I also cannot find either of them in the 1841 census.
If anyone could give me help or advice I would be so grateful.

I don't know if you have had any luck yet in finding the marriage of Robert H Rimmer. I spent about an hour yesterday going through the G.R.O registrations.Unfortunately there are lots of Robbert Rimmer marriages all in Liverpool,not one of them has any initials next to them.So if the couple did marry in Liverpool it could be any one of them plus the fact Rimmer is a common name.Being a merchant marina there is a possibility that they did marry there. There are two other possibilities though where they might of married(if they ever did )One is the hometown of the bride the other is in wirral where the children were born.So far no marriages have come up registered Birkenhead,which if they were born in liscard is where they would be registered.The onlything i can suggest,if you haven't already done so.Is to look for the marriage under the Darbin.Have you got any of the birth certs for the children preferably the first to obtain the correct maiden name of the mother.

Sarah's christening is on the IGI for Chilvers Cotton (16 April 1820) - Her dad is John and mum is Sarah Williams (their marriage also shown in 03 September 1814).  There is also sister Mary Ann listed as christened 28 MAY 1815  Death: 17 DEC 1819. 

Sarah is listed as Darbin and Mary Ann as Darben.

Thank you all for your replies, it looks like its now driving other people mad as well. I did manage to get their son Robert Olivers birth certificate and Sarahs maiden name read Durbenn! That certainly was a new one! I have tried different counties as well as lancashire, cheshire and warwickshire and read through all the marriages on ancestry till my eyes hurt. As pointed out, it is possible they didnt marry.... Any way thank you all once again.

If anyone is interested the marriage appeared one day on Lancashire BMD. They married at st Brides Church, Liverpool on 18/6/1844 Sarahs name to confuse things was spelt Derbenn!!
