Marriage look up request
« on: Friday 30 March 07 19:59 BST (UK) »
Can  anyone  help please?
Trying  to  find  the  marriage  date  of  a  Richard Fieldsend  of  Legsby, Market Rasen  Lincs  to  a  Mary  ????    birth place  Nettleton  Lincs.  Found  one  for  a  Richard  and  Mary  of  Caenby  but  don`t  think  it  is  same  couple.
They  had  two  children  George  and  Eliza.
Please

Possibly

13 July 1842 at Caenby
Richard FIELDSEND (father deceased, not named) to Mary Ann MAKIN (father deceased, not named)

1841 Caenby
William FIELDSEND 50 AgLab
Olympa 50
Mary 20
Richard 15
Fanny 13
Foston BIRCH? 12

You'll find Richard's baptism IGI 1821

William FIELDSEND actually died in Caenby in 1856 aged 66.
Olympia buried 13 Oct 1857 (74)
Richard buried at Mkt Rasen 27 May 1895 (72)

I think this is probably all irrelevant - See below for additional thoughts

I think the marriage I found was for an old couple of the same names (with dead fathers), so probably has nothing to do with your couple, or with William and Olympia FIELDSEND, unless he was William's father).  I think William and Olympia's son Richard married Ann MUMBY in Cadney in 1845, so this is not yours either.

In 1841 in Legsby

Richard FIELDSON 20 AgLab

I notice in 1851 that your couple have PICKERINGs on either side, plus a PICKERING "nurse child" in their home.

Welcome to Rootschat  :)

FamilySearch has on the 1851 census (HO107 2115/82 p5 - Legsby, Lincs):
Richard FIELDSEND, head, 30, Farm Lab, born Legsby
Mary FIELDSEND, wife, 29, born Nettleton
George FIELDSEND, son, 6, born Ulceby
Eliza FIELDSEND, daughter, 4, born Legsby
Eliza PICKERING, 0, born Legsby

Ulceby was in the Glanford Brigg registration district.
The General Register Office index has:
George Wilson FIELDSHEND Dec qtr 1843 Glanford Brigg vol 14 p352 mmn WILSON

So far, so good - but......  I haven't yet found a FIELDSHEND/WILSON (with variants) marriage or a birth for Eliza.

Philip

ADDED: there are two other births:
Hannah Maria FIELDSHEND Jun qtr 1841 Glanford Brigg vol 14 p349 mmn WILSON
Henry FIELDSHEND Sep qtr 1846 Glanford Brigg vol 14 p353 mmn WILSON (Henry FIELDSHAND died Sep qtr 1846 Glanford Brigg vol 14 p301 age 0)
