Hi Possumpete,

The only Free site I know of is...

b4usearch

At the moment the Electoral Roll is being updated but you might like to keep it on file for future reference...

The information on B4Usearch doesn't look to me as if it's up to date.  I did a search and found a group of people apparently still living in the same household, where I know this is no longer the case.

That's kind of strange... I searched for my surname and town and it came up with some of my chess tournament results!

B4Usearch searches the 2001 electoral role so it's a little out of date.

Oh dear!

What if your living relatives don't want to be found?

Invasion of privacy, identity theft etc??  Anything ring a bell there?  :-\

Posts such as Comosus' just prove that!

Hi fifer ,
Find my past is legal,
I, myself have, until now, had very positive results with my research,
I have done research on families of war victims, one by one, they are very happy with my contacts,
On the other hand you have right to say that there are people, who do not want to be "found",

Look for the box on the declaration form that the council send your that reads:

"Edited Register"

Tick the box if you do not wish to appear on the edited register

That means that you will only be shown on the locally held rolls and not on 192.com etc,
If you check the online sites fewer people are on after 2002
