Honeybun

Dear Dorset,

I have found a link in my family that runs back to Dorset. Joseph Honeybun (aged 50 yrs on the 1851 census) was born in Broadwindsor, Dorset, and married someone named Birthia (I think) who hails from Knighton. On the 1851, they had the following children:

1. William Honeybun aged 16, from Owermoigne
2. Ann Trent Honeybun aged 15, from " " " " " " (my ancestor)
3. George aged 13, from Knighton
4. Emma aged 11, from    "  "   "  "
5. Elizabeth aged 8, from "  "  "  "
6. Eliza aged 6, from Weymouth.

They were living in Bincombe in 1851. Can anybody give any info on:

1. Birthia and Joseph's marriage
2. Birthia and Joseph's parents
3. Any other children
4. Any other info

If anybody else is related to these people, please feel free to get in contact, and I'll share what I have with you.

Thanks

James  ;)

Slightly confused as I am, I am assuming you are looking into the Honeybun family not the Webber's? ???
So I will post this just in case it helps. If not you, some else might be able to use it :D

Thomas Honeybun married Temperance Cake 1792, Toller Porcorum. Thomas died in 1805 and Temperence married John King, a widower in Bincombe in 1812. John King died in 1824, Temperence moved to Grimstone, where she was a dairy woman.

Joseph Honeybun(b1800/1 at Broadwinsor) a son of Thomas and Temperance married Bethia Trent at Bincombe in 1829. They had seven children, William, Ann, George, Julia Emma, Elizabeth, Eliza and Thomas, between 1834 and 1844 at Owermoigne, W.Knighton and Broadway, but were living in Bincombe in 1851.

This is not the Honeybun family that I am tracing (mine is Joseph Honeybun married to Hannah Barrett) as far as we know yet. But if you send me a personal message I will give you the email address of the researcher that is, and who gave me this info. He might be able to help you more.
Cheers

I have only just spotted your request.  My ggrandmother had the name Honebun as a second given name, and I assume it was a family name somewhere in her family.
Do the surnames BLEATHMAN, PINHORNE OR NEERING mean anything to you ?

Hi Treeofnames,
Don't suppose you have my Joseph Honeybun lurking anywhere in your files by any chance do you?
My Joseph is the one who married Hannah Barrett in Stoke Abbott. Joseph was born abt 1797 in Broadwinsor but I have never been able to find a baptism for him. He is supposedly the son of Job Honeybun, the son of John Honeybun and Susannah Travers of Loders.

Here's hoping
Merry Xmas to all
