Researching Whitelock's in the Birch, Layer-de-la-Haye, Langenhoe area

Any information, particulary of Samuel Whitelock (1811 - ) gratefully received (I know his whereabouts in 1841-51 censuses)

In 1871 a William Whitelock, b. abt. 1846 in Layer de la Hay, Essex was an AB onboard a vessel named Grace in Suffolk. He is listed as married.
There are others born Layer de la Hay, Essex on the 1891 & 1901 Censuses if you are interested

Thanks very much for the information  -  sorry reply has been delayed by m y being away on holiday.

The William Whitelock you mention is almost certainly my 2x g gfather.  His wife is "alone" at home in Langenhoe at the 1871 census and he is recorded as being a mariner at his wedding in 1867.  If you could send me the census reference I would be extremely grateful.

As regards your offer regarding 1891 and 1901 censuses I have done some searches (particularly on line with 1901) but if you have information from the 1891 I would be glad to receive it.

Thanks very much

John
