Yes, please Tati...

I never had a chance thank you  & Newfy's messages as so much came in at same time  ::)

But if you have anything on Lavinia prior to 1881 it is most welcome

And thank you once again  :)

It often pays to check the Herts Resources board when looking for general information about Hertfordshire. ;D

Thank you, Tati.

On a later census it says he was a 'plaid' manufacturer - but why would you make plaid in Luton? Isn't that what the Scottish make kilts out of  ;D

Charles John ROSSON was my great grandfather. Another son was born in 1872 - Albert Phillip Edward Frank Gladstone ROSSON. They must have decided to use up all the names they liked on the last child!

Have been searching for info on Lavinia for years - had thought the surname was Oland. Many thanks.

Charles John ROSSON (born 1835) father is Henry ROSSON, mother Sarah TARRANT.

Appreciate any info on Henry and Sarah.

The Rossons were hat manufacturers in Luton and plait manufacturer meant they made straw plaits for making straw hats.
