1871 or earlier - ALLDAY - Wimpole
« on: Wednesday 01 December 04 13:41 GMT (UK) »
I have a Mary Allday in my tree, born c1846 Wimpole, Norfolk.
Thanks to Rootschat members, I've worked through the fact that she was married twice and, by 1881, is living in Eston, Yorkshire.
I date Mary's first marriage (not to John Cant) to 1872.

RG11/4858/54 p58
14 Joneson Street Eston, York
John CANT Head M Male 38  b Seerback, Lincoln Ironstone Miner
Mary CANT Wife M Female 35 b Walpole, Norfolk
Hannah CANT Daur U  Female 13  b Seerbock, Lincoln Scholar

Frances R. Fitzhugh CANT Son U Male 6 b Eston, York, Scholar
Lizzie CANT Daur U Female 1  b  Eston, York

Luckily, I also found her brother living a couple of doors away.

There don't seem to be any Alldays left in Wimpole by 1881 - but quite a few (about 50) in Norfolk.  So the family I'm looking for they could have moved elsewhere in Norfolk or out of County.  I'm a bit hampered not knowing the local geography.

If anyone can locate an Allday family in Walpole 1871 with Mary aged c25 and Robert aged c28, or 1861 with ages c15 and c18, or even 1851 with ages c5 and c8, it would give me a great boost!

Many thanks in anticipation

Paul
