Morcott, PLATT - BATES Families
« on: Friday 27 April 07 22:13 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for any information that anyone may have on Charlotte Platt from Morcott, b. 1796.  Also, any information of David Bates whom she married in 1819.  I think that they married in Morcott.  Is anyone also researching this family? Are you a Platt or Bates and and live in Morcott?

Paul, thank you so much for looking this up for me.  I really appreciate it.  I'm not sure if I understand how to read it.  Were David Bates and Charlotte Platt married March 29, 1819, in Bann, Morcott, or was the parish/church in Harringworth, Northamptonshire?  I don't understand.  Could you help me?  Thanks again

My grandfather was a Gardener for Sir Arthur Gilby at Morcott and my Nan a cook. My father was born there In 1921 and me too some 23 years later at my Nans House.

I recently revisited the area. It is absolutely lovley - creamy stone houses, some there centuries. It seems to be  very much gentrified.

The villiage is about 7.6 miles from Stamford
