Hi Crabby
Eventually got to Archieves today.
Info herewith
John Jurgens Ross born Graff Reinet
died 10.5.1943 @ 79years and 5 months.
at his son house Tempelhof, Ficksburg
father: Alexander Ross
Mother: Martha Johanna Maria born Fritz
Wife:  Elizabeth Elsie Susanna Cadle (she died 5.8.1938)
They were both missionaries.
John and Elizabeth were married in Greytown, Natal.
I see that they say he lived in Bainsvlei (which is just outside Bloemfontein but everything points to the fact that he lived in Parys, OFS - so he might have just been in Bainsvlei before he went to Hospital)
Children:
Martha Maria (married J.J. Pretorius)  (deceased) she had no children
Agnes ( married Charl Marais )  (deceased) three children
Alexander Washington Ross (lived Boschplaas, Wolmaranstad)
George Ellis N'tsane
Johan Jurgens Ross (lived Tempelhof,Ficksburg)
Henry William Ross
Elizabeth Cadle (married Frans Johannes Cronje van Niekerk)

Johan Jurgens Ross was with his father when he passed away.

He left the farm SEAPARK (dist. Alexandra, Natal)  and various erven in Parys to his children and his grandchildren by Agnes -
names of grandchildren (Agnes and Charl Marais)
Charl Petrus Marais b 11.1.1925
Elizabeth Cadle Marais b 13.4.1926
Janetta Johanna Marais b.11.2.1928

Hope this helps somewhat!!

Hi EDO, just came across your post. My great grand mother is the younger sister of Johan Jurgens Ross. Johan Jurgens was born in Aberdeen near Graaff-Reinet in the Eastern Cape. He was baptized on the 19 Mar 1864 in Aberdeen. I have his baptism record and his death record and marriage certificate.

I am still trying to find more information about his parents and siblings. My family did not know much about g grand mothers side. There could be two older brothers the names I was given are George, and Alexander.

Please send private message, thanks
