Thomas is on 1851 census in Clist St George with parents as above HO107/1866 folio 189 pg 19
and the family minus Thomas in 1841 HO107/264/1 folio 7 pg 8 and there is a brother Richard.

Can't see a birth reg for Thomas which is a pity as cert would have given a maiden name for Mary. But there's always parish records from the Devon Family History Society.

I hope you get this, Dorothy Pidsley was my Grandmother, I remember Aunty Olive and also visiting your mother Aunty Clarice as a child.  She had told me that her real father was a mill owner and that she had her Grandfather's name.  Her own life was equally dramatic, I have been reading your posts and wonder if you got any further?
