Hi Aumau, The Lewis's of Greenmeadow you said were landowners in Whitchurch, Glam, which is situated on the northern side of Cardiff, the Greenmeadow farm I have is about 15 miles north of Cardiff in Pengam,  I lived in s.a. in the seventies so I know a little of both, regards Rowley

Hi Slyvia,
Thank you.Found it.
Are you from the area and is so do you know anything more about the family?
I am trying to trace descendants of Henry lewis and his wife Nancy.
Nancys mother Hilda was the daughter of Edward Grantham,my ancestor  James` brother and so far i have manged to get in touch with descendants of all of James`brothers except this family.
I am South African and James was my Gr.Gr.Grandfather,he was in the Royal Engineers and spent the last years of his life in South africa.
I have traced the family of our granthams back to 1763 and have photos of all the brothers except Edward, but i am still hoping to find one of him somewhere.i also have so much to share with edwards Descendants on their maternal side.
Nancys parents Hilda and Evan Ivor williams were also very wealthy people, and like such would have treasured their ancestors photos and portraits.
So expect if i visit Wales(i have been in the u.k. for 7 years) i should find out quite a lot about them in the library and archives in glamorgan.
The Mansion loooks in a sad state of disrepair, does it still exist??
Thank you so much for your help and any other info you can give me on the family would be appreciated.
Are you in Wales and are you welsh?
thanks once again.

Hello Audrey

No I do not know anything about this family although I have now looked at records on the different censuses but I do have a friend who lives in Greenmeadow Drive in Tongwynlais.  Her house was built on the ground
where the mansion stood.  The houses were built about 1947/50. I am Welsh and live in Cardiff which is not far from Tongwynlais. Unfortunately I cannot speak the Welsh Language.  My friend says that she has a little book on Greenmeadow Mansions and would show it to me when I meet up with her on the 31st May.  If Ithink I see anything that might interest you I will let you know

I am just trying to find out as much as i can before i go so that i know which places to visit.
Are there buses going from cardiff to Greenmeadow,Egwysilan?
I need to find all this out before i go.as i myself am going on 66 i do not want to get lost in a strange place.

There are a number of buses from Cardiff that run through Tongwynlais:

The 132 to Maerdy runs every 30 minutes.
