Old map of Dinas?
« on: Thursday 07 June 07 15:18 BST (UK) »
Any idea where I can find an old map of Dinas (circa 1900) on the net? If there isn't anywhere, then I'll try and find time to go over the hill!

Specifically Feeder Row and Tram Row/Road

Any photo's would be great too - I've tried googling, but nadda!

Dinas itself might not be on here, but there might be something useful

Thanks Osprey - I've seen these two sites, but not specific enough for what I'm after. Have to admit that I didn't realise the amount of sites like this that were around the area (I do hill walking a lot, and know a few hill forts, but not all this stuff!)

David, again, I've seen this site, but the resolution/size is again, sadly, not what I'm after.

I'm constantly having this problem, then trying to scour through all the local history books to try and find an approximate location for the street!

Railway Terrace in Briton Ferry is just a railway now, and Treharne Row in Maesteg was half demolished - however, number 4 is still standing, but I don't know if that was the original 4, or if they re-numbered the remaining houses (grr)

How about the Record Office in Cardiff? They might have something to help. You could give them a ring to ask. I seem to remember it's the local council that might know about renumbering.
Have you tried the Glam Family History Society?

Didn't realise that Osprey - you tend to be a jack of all trades when you start doing this don't you!

SS, thatnks for that too, but the link appears to be down at the moment - will try again, or just pop over the hill and raid the library!
