Hi

I am a descendant of Mary Loorim who married William Johnson in 1853.  They were my grandfather's grandparents.  I would be interested in any information about their 2nd son John who, according to William's Death Notice, was alive and 38 years old when William died in 1894.  I have been able to track all other children Joseph Johnson (my great grandfather), Mary Lawson, Susan Godden and Nellie Honan.  Would also be interested in anything on Mary Loorim.

Hi Tabbee and Butler5,

I am a Loorim and Johnson, my gggmother Mary Loorim married William Johnson.  As I'm heading to Ireland in a few months I'd love to track some history over there.

I would love to hear more about Butler 5's visit to Maggie in the nursing home in Kew.  I would also love, in particular, anything about Mary Loorim.

Hi
I am not related to your family, just trying to help ;D

The children registered in Vic to the couple William and Mary (nee LOORIM) JOHNSON were
James. At Roke. 1860. #2673
Joseph. At Linton. 1861 13842
Mary Ann. At Linton. 1864. #3273
Joseph. At Carnghsm. 1866. #7029
Susan. At Carngham. 18691236
Her twin
Ellen. At Carngham. 1869.#1237

The first Joseph died-
JOHNSON  Joseph
Father William
Mother Mary U
Age  8M
Birth Place LINT
Year 1862
Reg   4621

So it would seem that the son named John was born before civil registration in Victoria.  I cannot at present locate the death notice you mention, but I see in the digitised version of the will of William JOHNSON, he left his entire estate to his daughter Susan, Mrs GODDEN, and made no mention at all of any other family. She was appointed his executrix also.

Where and when did Mary die?

Sue

Thanks Sue. Mary Loorim died on 19 June 1898 in Ballarat.  This was 4 years after William.  It seems she was living with her daughter Susan at that time.  I would really love to find a descendant who may have a photo of Mary and her sisters. Cheers Sheryl.
