It is just possible they were really brothers and Sidney was a late surprise, only his birth certificate would tell you definitely.

Sydney's brother,  Arthur Edward BELLAMY, was killed in the First World War in 1918...

Arthur had gone to Canada and joined up over there with the Canadian Engineers...there is lots of info if you google the:

''Kempston War Memorial''

and the:

''Commonwealth War Graves'' site

His parents had moved from up the road from number 94 [as per 1901 census],  to number 110 of the Margetts Road by the time of Arthur's death.

Have a look at

http://blars.adlibsoft.com

There may be info on his brothers and sisters.

The 1891 census for Bedfordshire is complete and free online - just google '' freecen ''

If you can get a pic of Arthur E BELLAMY to the administrator of the War Memorials - he will add it to the Roll of Honour..,

Thanks, Marie

Soon these peoples' pics will be lost to us for ever - so saving photos of those brave young men on their Village War Memorial web site is well worth while, you will agree?  I always think of the parents being present when the Village War Memorial was consecrated - they would have felt ...pride & sadness - and lots of memories?

Did the family leave Bedford in the 20th C - I can't seem to find marriages for his elder siblings on the free BMD around Bedford?

I will get back to you on Friday evening
