Wood Street Hyde cheshire

Hi,

Does anyone know if  any houses, or the street is still there, at Wood Street Hyde.  My Gt  Grandad Isaac lived there in 1853, I would like to get any photos of the street if at all possible.

Hi,

Doubt if houses still exist. However Thameside Council hold old Photographs,
some are online. You could try contacting them to see if they have any
pics of Wood Street and Flowery Field schools....believe the folks in the
archives section are very helpful.

There is a Wood Street, off Lumn Road in Hyde.
There is also a Wood St., Hollingworth, Hyde, just off Market Street.
But that's about 4 miles away, and more like Mottram area.

The houses look pretty new from the satellite maps.

Wood Street in Hyde does still exist, but I'm not sure about the houses.  I will try to get down there to check.  It is only a very short road, but  some of my relations lived there in the 1851s and 60s.

Many thanks for your email, regarding Wood St, I think in those two places it would probably be the Lumn road, I have heard of that, but like you say they may be new houses there now.
