ooooh Welsh lady - you always come up with the goods! Thank you so much - I had been scooting about the WWW and found a 2005 Rootsweb message from Pauline James who has been transcribing the parish records and there was a big error by the vicar regarding Richard Bowen JONES ( Edwards brother is my guess) - I had just written to her asking if she knew who the parents were and then checked my Rootschat messages to find you have cleared the mystery up!

So looking at IGI..it seems Daniel married Mary BOWEN abt 1811 in Penybont and he died 1847.

I wonder if anyone would be able to look up 1841 to see who Daniel is living with ....son Richard is with my Evan JONES's siblings ( born Llangranong CDS) in King St CMN in 1841...Evan's  brother, Josiah married in 1848 in Newcastle Emlyn...but I don't know what happened to his brother John b abt 1801, or sisters Mary and Anne JONES - all born llangranog ( if my hunch is correct)

I have St Peters Marriages and Carmarthenshire Marriages the marriage you found on igi isnt in my records but this looks  likely to be their marriage
Daniel Jones(Occupation Sadler)to Mary Bowen on 07/07/1805 in St Peters
Will look later what else i can find

That looks far more accurate  - the name Bowen was handed down for generations...also I found a Daniel JONES in Lammas St  a while ago and now can't find where I saw it.

The Mothers name seems to alternate between Mary,Maria and Anne but due to the Bowen name being used with all the children i think its the same Mother .Looks like the first Mary passed as a child.
Cant find an old enough Daniel Jones in 1841 in Carmarthen so he might have passed by then.Theres a couple of burials in St Peters but the name is so common be hard to pinpoint the right one.

I have been able to trace Eliza Bowen JONES - she married James HOGG and had at least 3 kids I think - one daughter, Mary Ann Catherine Bowen HOGG b 1848 CMN married William ALLEN, a mariner,  in 1873 Hackney and I found her with a daughter in 1881 over in Surrey - then there was a second daughter, Ethel Beatrice ALLEN born 1882 - both girls became school teachers and were living with Mum in St Paul Deptford in 1901.

Eliza Bowen HOGG died June Qtr 1871 aged 57 - I am hoping someone may be able to find her in 1851 and 1861 and with luck, in 1871.

I found a John Bowen HOGG b 1851 Stepney and am not sure if he belongs to Eliza or not..if so, then the family moved from CMN sometime after 1848 and before March 1851...hopefully some one will  be able to locate James and Eliza HOGG  in 1851 and 1861 to confirm children

P..S  John Bowen Hogg reg Stepney in 1851 isnt the same family  hes 3 mnths old in 1851 census and parents are Thomas and Elizabeth
