Major-General Richard J.J. Lacy, R.A.
« on: Saturday 11 December 04 23:51 GMT (UK) »
Born circa 1780, died in Greenwich in 1852. I feel there must be a portrait of this person (my GGGgrandfather) somewhere. Any ideas?

As he ended his career as director-General of Artillery there would be a portrait at Woolwich. You would need to be quick as a lot of it is being converted into housing.

Thanks very much for your help. I'll have to try and persuade my brother to leave the wilds of Scotland and take a trip to the sunny (?) south!! It's a bit far for me to travel (from South Australia!).

Have a Happy New Year!
