Hmmm.... Have you ever heard the tale about an estate in Scotland that should have come to our side of the family? My mother’s mother was adamant about it but could only get so far down the tree without the technology we now have. I can’t find anything so far that suggests there was any money in the family! I’ve been looking almost as a sideline as it wouldn’t come to me anyway! Just want to know the origin : )

Hi Lelly,
 I am a direct descendant of David Pratt, he is my G.G. grandfather, and his daughter Euphemia is my great grandmother.

Euphemia married my great grandfather Arthur Edward Scott in Liverpool in 1937. On their wedding certificate, it shows that she was widowed and that her previous married name was Duff, although I've  never been able to find that marriage.

Euphemia died in January 1963 in Liverpool

On Scotlands People there is an Effie Pratt marrying Thomas Duff in 1917 in Leven.

I just looked on SP, found the record for Effie Pratt and Thomas Duff, However I don't think this lady is my Effie Pratt, the parents on the record show Effie's parents as being Alexander Strath Pratt and Effie Pratt nee. Patrick.

My Effie's parents are David Pratt and Lilias Pratt nee. Patrick.

Can you supply all details on marriage i.e. ages/addresses/witnesses...

I wouldn't discount this as there seems to be a link of a sort with the family going by surnames which may show up on census' & VRs?
