Coalville area lookups now completed - Thanks Jan

Hi folks

I'm going to the library in the next week or so - can I look up anything for anyone in the parish registers? Areas covered: Coalville, Whitwick, Thringstone, Swannington, Ibstock, Hugglescote, Coleorton etc.

Hi Jan,

Firstly, what a wonderful kind offer, thank you. 

I would love to find anything on my 3x g grandfather, his name was William Cook(e) and he was born c1839 in Thorpe Acre.  I cannot find a birth registration for him and strangely his baptism is not on the IGI, although his siblings are (the ones I know of).  www.familysearch.org, seems to have baptisms on there up to 1875, so I would have thought if he had been baptised, he would have been on there.

His parents were John Cook(e), born in Sheepshed c1803  and Ann (maiden name unknown), born in Colerton c1797.  The family were in Thorpe Acre on both the 1841 and 1851 censuses.

If it is at all possible to have a look for him in the parish records for Thorpe Acre, it would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry Kath but Thorp Acre will be Loughborough and I know Coalville doesn't have those records.

I could try baptismal records for Ann at Coleorton.

Ah, thanks Jan, I should have checked where the records were held before making a request

It is very kind of you to offer to look for Ann, but on the IGI, there are several baptisms at Coleorton, that could be her.  I am hopeful that one day, I will make a breakthrough.

Death March 1910 Thringstone,
parents names would be great help
