Woodburn House, originally a private dwelling, became part of Langside College. My guess is that the lodge was a gatehouse. A family would have lived there.

Thank you Sancti.  I have viewed it and learned it has been closed since which is sad,  its a very beautiful building  and to think that my great grandparents once lived and worked there is fabulous.... thanks again

I attended when it was part of the college.

It was largely extended but still had substantial grounds. A developer is in the process of building new houses on the site

wow, it looked such a beautiful house.... its sad they ripped it down.  I would have liked to have seen it.  Thts how far i have got.  i have names but not much else because i cant find birth certs due to them moving around, im not sure of their birth place and theres too many results when i search without a birth place.  do u have a public records office in Scotland?  we have one in belfast and its all free to search.

Hi Sancti, I have a birth certificate of my grandmother Elizabeth smith and her marriage lines to my grandfather.  From this I have my grandfather's parents marriage lines.  They are the ones from woodburn lodge.  I can't find birth certificates because I don't know where they were born, seems they just worked there.  I have addresses in Glasgow I'm assuming because my grandfather was a ships carpenter.  The records office here have opened the records of employees of the building of titanic so I'm hoping to get down on Fri to see what I can find out.  I know he was born in 1875 to john and Elizabeth nee Nicol but dont know where.  My grandmother is a McLean. Sorry if this seems to be all over the place but to tell u the truth, it is lol. I hope it all comes togrther soon.  It's driving me batty.
