Birth Records after 1906???
« on: Friday 17 August 07 16:22 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to find whether George William Mills & Grace Learmont Cairns, who married in Hawick in 1911, had any children.  The Birth Registrations on the Scotlands People site stop in 1906. Where do I go from here.

After the privacy cut off date (1906) there is currently no general access online to the modern records.
From the NAS
Quote
There are 4 options for obtaining an extract of an entry on the birth, death or marriage registers:

    * Apply in person at New Register House, and we will send you a copy of the certificate within 5 working days. If you make your application before 13:00 you can request a priority copy which will be ready for collection by 16:00 that day.
    * Apply in writing and we will send a copy within 10 - 14 days. If you request our priority service we will despatch the copy within 1 working day by first class mail.
    * Apply at the local Registration Office where the birth, death or marriage was originally registered.
    * Apply by telephone to New Register House using our Certificate Ordering Service

Unfortunately at the moment if you live outside of the UK your options are limited although it is possible that Scotlands people will have the modern Index online at some point but no time scale for this is yet available.

Thanks Myrrdin, I guess I'll have to wait.

The only other option is to ask if some UK or Scotland based Rootschatter is going to the NAS or to the Glasgow Centre and if possible they may be able to assist in a lookup for you
