Griffiths Evaluation- COMPLETED
« on: Monday 20 August 07 08:56 BST (UK) »
Just a general question about the Griffiths Evaluation please
Is there any website that specifies time lines for a search?
I would like to be able to narrow my search to the period between 1861 & 1864.
Any advice really appreciated.

Griffith's Valuation was done in various years in different parts of the country. The orginal valuation was printed but the valuation notebooks which continue on until c1920s are in PRONI. The various colours of ink (part of the record keeping) are faded and they are not on microfilm and would not photocopy well.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Irish Origins also has the maps to which the entries in Griffiths relate to.

For the 6 counties those maps are held at PRONI.

Thank you all so much for your time.
I'll definitely have a look at the Origins site.
Cheers
