1871 to 1881 Search Death John Griffiths

I am searching for the death/burial dates for a
John Griffiths, maritime fireman and copper works
occupations.

John was born about 1811 in Llanelly and married
an Ann Thomas in 1837 St. Elli Parish.

He was listed in the 1871 but not the 1881 Census.

His wife, Ann Griffiths, was a widow in 1881 Census at age of 70.

I have search the Free BMD between 1871 and 1881,  but
no age match found for John's death.

Closest I could find for a John Griffiths, was Dec. 1876, Llanelly, age 69.

I found Ann Griffiths death date on same Free BMD, age 75, June 1889, Llanelly.

the age on the registration depends on the person who registered the death knowing how old the person was. The age on my gggrandmother's death certificate is 8 years younger than it should be - registered by a son-in-law, but it's correct on the memorial inscription, probably organised by one of her daughters.

How about
John Griffiths age 72 dec qtr 1875 Llanelly vol 11a pg 426 - not out by much?

time of death.

John and Ann Griffiths were married in St. Elli Parish (1837) in Llanelly.

They may not be buried in this parish cemetery, unless it was the
only Llanelly cemetery at that time.

Are the tombstone engravings still readable?

Is there a RootsChat member researching the Llanelly Parish Cemetery
graves and could provide me with information on John and Ann Griffiths
tombstone/grave?

Have a look at Genuki for Llanelli. It gives the records for the various churches and where they are. Looks like most of them are in the Record Office in Carmarthen. Have a look at the Look-up offers for Carmarthenshire on this board- there might be someone who can help you. My online searches are limited at the moment as my broadband is on the blink and is working more slowly than dial-up.

Thank you for that information.  I have visited Genuki
often, but not of late.  I will look specifically this time
for Llanelly burial/grave records, if they have them.
