The family of Co. Mayo businessman, Jackie Clarke (1928 - 2000), have donated a comprehensive collection of historical and republican material, worth approximately ten million euros, to the State.
The Jackie Clarke Library is located in the upper floors of the refurbished Moy Hotel, Pearse Street, Ballina. The public library is on the ground floor of the same building. The curator of the Jackie Clarke Library in Ballina is Sinéad McCoole, author of
"No Ordinary Women", a book on female activists in the revolutionary years 1900-1923.
