William Bloy of wisbeach
« on: Thursday 30 August 07 07:38 BST (UK) »
Hi, William Bloy was my great grandfather and I wondered if anyone could help. He hanged himself circa 1939 when he was in his 80s and I know this made the local wisbeach papers. Does anyone know what the local paper was at the time and if the local archive is available online, as I do not live near Wisbeach?

Any information would be appreciated

Hi, my wife is related to the Bloys from Wisbech sometimes mistaken as Wisbeach although without wife and children not sure if your connected. I looked up newspaper archives on Genes-reunited and only found
Lincolnshire Echo Lincolnshire, England
Cambridge Daily News
Cambridge Independent Press
Cambridge Chronicle and Journal
All cover news in the area but possible some were not being published in 1939
Didnt see any report of William in any items only Mary Ellen Bloy, daughter Mr. and Mrs. W. Bloy, of Rookery Farm, Sutton Bridge found hanged in forrest 1937. Sorry couldnt be more helpful. Laurie
