Bennett/Arnold mystery !
« on: Wednesday 12 September 07 17:38 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone,
Just a quick note wondering if anyone can help me with this mystery ??
My "Blood" great-grandfather was a man named John Bennett born Alveley around 1875. John seems to marry an Elizabeth Alice Arnold in the Wellington area 1910. ??
Not sure where she comes from or why John  is away from Alveley ?
I really want to get my teeth into this one and find out as much as possible.
I never knew who my real grandfather  was until I was well over 21 - if you know what  I mean ! - everyone who could be upset are now dead, so I thought the time was right to dig and delve

Elizabeth Alice died in early 1966 aged 90, so she was probably born around 1875.
Any help much appreciated to trace their place of marriage and where Elizabeth Alice came from would be much appreciated.

Many thanks  :) :) :) :) :) :)

Hello :)

In the 1881 census there is an Arnold family in Shifnal that "fits the bill" - father Mark Arnold, Coal Miner.

The marriage certificate will confirm Elizabeth's father, but let me know if you'd like the census details.
