Harold Charles Parfitt- look up help

Hello,
It just goes to show that you must start at the beginning and go backwards. My  great grandfathers name was I was told David Parfitt, but having just obtained my grandmothers birth cert it shows Harold Charles Parfitt as her fathers name!
Her mothers has been confirmed also as Beatrice Victoria Parfitt  nee Coombes.
I dont know any dates but my grandmother was Phyllis Eleanor Williams, nee Parfitt and was born 01.10.1909 in Lower Pontnewydd, near Newport.
Any help with searches appreciated as i'm still quite new to all this and have used up all my free credits on the geneologist site.

Theres a c1884 Harold Charles in Monmouthshire in the 1901, he has a younger sister called Phyllis ..

He was born in LLanfrecha Upper ....

Hi Newf,
Thanks for your help. I have had no luck so far looking for his wife Beatrice nee Coombes. Family say she may have lived in Bristol prior to marriage.
On free BMD I found a Harold Charles Parfitt age 17 in 1901 with birthplace LLanfrecha Upper in Pontypool, 11/159
I am trying to work my way around all the sites but it seems I have to pay for access to them even tho they say free! I haven't worked out yet which ones to pay for!!!

Strange - there is a Beatrice Victoria marrying in the Newport District, but as early as 1904 - and not to Mr P !

Of course, it may not be her - the spelling differs ... but there wasnt another lass with the middle initial V on the Wales 1901 Census

This Marriage Entry is from FreeBMD btw.

Is There no other names showing on your 1909 Birth Cert ?? - if a woman was previously married you often see previous name and then 'formerly Maiden name'


Maybe she married either Booth or Topliss, who died and she remarried - lets see if we can flush that out

No , just says Beatrice Victoria Parfitt formerly Coombes.

She  also had another daughter Iris and possibly a Rose.
