Kilner Tea Rooms Glenridding
« on: Thursday 27 September 07 15:38 BST (UK) »
The Kilner family had a tea room in Glenridding. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has a picture of the tea rooms and gardens.

Hi,

Did not expect such a quick reply,  will look out the photo I have tomorrow and post it.  Kilners used to be a guest house and tea rooms, the relatively new cafe kept the name Kilners in memory.

You were lucky that I happened to read my e-mails.
The Tea rooms seemed to be very popular for local weddings ect.,

I would have posted an updated one of Kilners today but there was a lot of flooding today down on the roads.

I am sorry but I have never heard of any weddings taken place there, my father does not think any have taken place there in the last seventy years, but he will ask around.  The last person he knew who lived at Kilners when he was a child was a family by the name of Grenfell.
