W.G. Chads - Home Child
« Reply #4 on: Wednesday 17 October 07 04:00 BST (UK) »
Hi, lindy-lou & welcome to rootchat...
Your W.G. Chads seems to have been transcribed under the home children
site...http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/archivianet/home-children/001015-100.01-e.php
which I just recently found out may or may not be so....
Have to do some digging on that, or was he known to have been sent
as part of Dr. Barnardo's Party of children?

OhOh, I see that I have opened a can of worms ...I am very sorry....as I see on another site that you are looking for him with a Jean Cruickshank whom he married in 1911....

I found Florence & a Violet Chad age 4 in a children's home on River Street.
Perhaps something happened to Emma and he felt he couldn't raise the children alone...

Sorry to have opened a painful part of the puzzle. Unfortunately this is sometimes why so little might be known of an ancestor, but it is still part of his life. I see Herbert Chads, William's father, died the year he was sent to Canada...  J.J.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Could be your William in 1911 as looks to be chads on original...
