I can see a Percy Cavey on the 1911 census, born 1895 St Peter's Port Guernsey and living in Essex.
Sorry can't print it as you will know there are restrictions.

The  Merchant Navy Seaman index on FindMyPast have a Percy Cavey born 1894 St Peter Port which I think might be the one your researching.
He's picked up a middle name of Wm but it looks right.
It's pay per view so you would need credits to see the image.

can anyone confirm if there was more than one percy cavey born in channel island between 1894-1896

There looks to be another Percy Cavey born around the same time as your Percy

here are some details for you to look at so you can probably rule him out

Percy Cavey born c1894  went to Canada with his mother & siblings aboard ship Victorian
date of arrival 3 Dec 1909 Nova Scotia Halifax, dept. Liverpool

Jessie CAVEY 39, Majorie 17, PERCY 15, Malcolm 11, Victoria 9, Matthew 4, Claude 2

Looking at the 1891 CI census I believe Jessie is Jessie Theresa Cavey (maiden name looks to be PLUCK 1871/1881c) married to Matthew Ed Cavey occ Clerk both born St Helier, he arrived in Canada Dec 1908

It looks as if this Percy Cavey's middle name is EDWARD born 5 Nov 1894 St Helier CI,
Canadian Soldier of WW1 (1914-1916) regiment number 421072,
next of kin mother Mrs J T Cavey address 707 Langside Winnipeg

US Records of Aliens Pre-examined in Canada (1917 –1954) Date 4 Jun 1929
Percy Edward Cavey born c1895 Jersey CI, married

Percy Edward Cavey died age 89 Victoria on 14 Apr 1984

Sgt. Percy E Cavey, place of residence Winnipeg
Date of Arrival:   21 Sep 1919 Montreal Quebec port of dept Glasgow Scotland Vessel: Corsican
Proceeding from Canadian Discharge Depot Buxton Derbyshire England

Hope this helps
