wallace family 1770

Looking for information about Jacob Wallace and Margaret Lyons who were married in the Church of Ireland, Killala, on 11th July, 1770. I believe they had at least three children: Thomas (b.1773), Susanna (b.1778) and Spencer (b.1789).

Would be especially pleased to hear from any descendants.

Hi,

I don't have any additional info, only to confirm that a Spencer Wallace was born in Kilalla parish, Co. Mayo, on 22 Feb 1789 to a Jacob Wallace. Spencer was the bandmaster father of William Vincent, composer, born in Waterford in 1812.

Ever since I was told that I might be related in some way to W.V. Wallace (I was also born in Waterford), I have become obsessed with the Wallaces, paricularly W.V's travels to, and in, Australia. I have got a fair bit of information about that period, but some accounts seem to differ (dates, places, people). No indication, yet, however, of where my link to the Wallaces (if it does exist)might be!

I believe John Bushelle & Eliza Wallace had a son, John, also a singer, who, I think, died young.

I would be happy to share anything I have with you off-line.

Hi Aghadowey,

Any chance you could let me have amberwitch's email address, or pass on my email to amberwitch?

Thanks

Sorry, but Rootschat doesn't pass email address between members. Unfortunately, sometimes people post messages and lose interest in that bit of research or change their email from the one they registered here with or don't come back for other reasons but perhaps they will eventually see your post and get in touch.

Nothing listed for location in amberwitch's profile so can't help you there (even moderators do not have access to member's details).
