Boer war lookup

I am trying to confirm that my 2nd Great Grandfather private Charles Benjamin Grant was in South Africa in 1901. I think that he served in the Duke of Cornwalls Light Infantry. Any help would be gratefully received.

Every soldier who served in South Africa 1899-1902 was entitled to the Queens South Africa medal (QSA)

So the best place to start looking for him would be the medal rolls which are at Kew in class WO100 (unless you're lucky enough to find someone on this board who has the relevant rolls to hand). They're arranged by regiment, so you'd be looking for the 2nd Bn DCLI.

The rolls will give you number/rank of any C.Grant's, which can then be checked further.
Name interests: Boulton, Murrell, Lock, Croxton, Skinner, Blewett, Tonkin, Trathen.
