1841 1851 Phoebe VIVEASH
« on: Friday 19 October 07 23:40 BST (UK) »
Phoebe b 1815 Great Bedwyn married George Rushent in 1853 in Great Bedwyn. I have census records of her after her marraige but none before 1853,

I would be most grateful if someone could look these up for me.

Many thanks

Graham

Have found a Phoebe, christened 5 March 1815 in Trowbridge, parents Joseph Viveash and Sarah.

Joseph and Sarah had two other children both christened 17 October 1813 in Trowbridge, Elizabeth Ann and William.

Unable to find a marriage for Joseph and Sarah but note that Joseph born Great Bedwyn 1782 could be a candidate for this role.

On IGI for Trowbridge, Viveash entries, there is a christening which had been performed in Great Bedwyn. This could indicate a link between the families in the two communities.

Hi All:

I have recently been reading over the Gt. Bedwyn registers on microfilm at the LDS and I believe I'm correct in remembering that there are a few pages of entries which are incomplete and out of synch in the registers because the original pages were misfiled in the returns for Trowbridge.  I'm afraid I can't check the dates for these until I can return to the LDS at the end of January but will try to do so and let you know in case it affects your research.

Ah ha - have just pulled out my "Great Bedwyn Families in the 19th Century"  (thank you Wiltshire FHS) and I quote:-

P 60

Viveash Joseph
[wife] Sarah
[children] Thomas, died
William bap 17 Oct 1813
Elizabeth Ann bap 17 Oct 1813
Phoebe bap 5 Mar 1815, wife of - RUSHANT
Emily bap 26 Dec 1819, wife of VIncent ROFFE G.B.
John bap 9 Jun 1822
Matilda wife 1st of George LIGHT, 2nd Henry RUSHANT
(Henry Rushant was lab. and son of Edward).

The extended Viveash family have 16 entries in this 78 page pamphlet - I think I have a spare copy - would you like it, Graham?

Happy New Year
