Back to the 1841......

As Sue has written above  - but the full household goes like this:

// (marks end of last household, and start of next)
Mary PAUL and her PAUL children
/ (marks seperation in household - often to mark after a nuclear family, then relatives, and/or servants)
Harriot BARTLETT 15
Robert BARTLETT 13,
Lucy BARTLETT 11,
Robert GALE 20, Ag Lab
// (marks the end of a household, and start of the next)
All born in County

Still with 1841, same page - these are the 2 Households after Mary PAUL's:

//
Robert BOWDETT 75, AG Lab - Y
Elizabeth BOWDETT 65 - Y
Sarah BOWDETT 25 - Y
Sarah GALE 65, Ind - Y
//
George PAUL 30, Sieve Maker - Y
Lucy PAUL 30 - N
Mary PAUL 6 - Y
William PAUL 4 - N
Elender????  PAUL - 8 months (girl) - Y

There is also a BOWDETT family before Mary's - I mention these, only because Robert GALE was with Mary over a 10 year perioid,  and a GALE was with the other BOWDETTS in 1841, and so maybe they are all bloodlinked somehow, which may come to light later on!

It might be that Geoge PAUL found on the Census 1841 and 1851 next door to Mary, isher brother-in-Law - and that Mary was previously married to a BARTLETT.....

Some possibilities:
MARRIAGE:
No BARTLETT/PAULL marriage in Dorset on IGI. But in Somerset is: Mary BARTLETT and John PAULL married 26 Jun 1831, Crewkerne.

IGI Christening: George PAUL - Chr  5 Apr 1807, age 1,   Crewkerne, Somerset
parents: William PAUL  and Jane

There were 2 sets of families in Crewkerne with parents of same names:
1) William PAULL and Jane WALDEN  - married 21 May 1801  Crewkerne
2) William PAULL and Jane MILLS - married  19 Oct 1807  Crewkerne

IGI Issue Crewkerne to parents William PAULL and Jane, are:

George PAUL b abt 1803, chr 6 Jan 1804 Crewkerne age 1
Harriot PAUL b abt 1803. chr 10 Aug 1804 Crewkerne age 1
Henry PAUL b abt 1804, chr  6 Dec  1805 Crewkerne age 1
George PAUL b abt 1806, chr 5 Apr  1807 Crewkerne age 1
Eliza PAUL b abt 1807, chr 8 Apr  1808 Crewkerne age 1
John PAUL  b abt 1807chr 13 Nov  1808 Crewkerne age 1
Sophia PAUL - b abt 1808, chr 14 May 1809 Crewkerne age 1
Esther PAUL - b abt 1808, Chr 24 Dec 1809 Crewkerne age1
Mary PAUL b abt 1810, chr  1 Dec  1811 Crewkerne age 1
Thomas  PAUL chr 24 Sep  1815 Crewkerne
William PAUL b abt 1814, chr 24 Sep 1815 Crewkerne aged 1
Emiley PAUL b 10 Nov 1815, chr 22 May 1816, Crewkerne]
William PAUL  chr 26 Jul 1818 Crewkerne,
Sophia PAUL chr 26 Mar 1820 Crewkerne,
William PAUL  chr 22 Sep 1822 Crewkerne,
William PAUL chr 15 Apr 1827 Crewkerne

So a possibility for your Robert's father is: John PAULL, son of William and Jane. And gthat John's mother is either WALDEN or MILLS.

A John PAULL death is registered in Sep 1847. Beaminster RD, Dorset.
If this is him - he would have been alive to father Sarah (the baby in 1841) anf Thomas (the youngest in 1851) - but if that's so - then John should be somewhere on the 1841 Census!

The marriage cert of Robert PAULL and Susan FOWLER would hopfeully state his father's name, to first  see if thiscould be on the right track.
