"Carbon Packer"
« on: Saturday 10 November 07 11:21 GMT (UK) »
Hi there

Does anyone have some information on what a 'carbon packer' did (apart from pack carbon!). I've only ever found the term used in the 1901 census and I've got no idea what sort of industry it relates to!

Any ideas appreciated  :)

'Packer' doesnt sound overskilled - wonder if it was electric motors etc - carbon brushes etc ?

PS. I think APP means Appliance  :)
